I have a AMD phenom II x4 Black Edition
chieftec super series 750W
4gb RAM (DDR3)
so, what do u guys think ?|||definately i have a 480w and i can run a 5670. you need a 450w or greater to run that card.|||yes but a 4870 or 4890 is faster then 5770, but 5770 uses less power and generates less heat, but no idea to try and play DX11 games on the 5770

How to capture video from my direcrv hd receiver to my pc?
I have a ati radeon hd 5770 video card. I am wanting to possibly record some tv shows that are in hd (1080i) to my computer. Do I need software to go with my video card? Or do I need like a hd video tuner card or... any ideas!|||Definitely, the best way is to use a hd tv tuner card . such as TBS6981 PCI-E DVB-S2 Dual Tuner TV card. it is twin dual, this enables you watch one channels while record another one simultaneously. it's HD!
Which graphics card is better the Nvidia 1.8 gtx 260 or the Ati radeon hd 5770?
i'll be using two monitors and playing games like crysis, sniper ghst warroir, and maybe hawx, it would go in an Hp HPE 310t|||They are about equal in performance. However the 5770 uses less power and supports DX11. If you can afford a little more then look at the ATI 5830 or Nvidia 460 (1GB)
Is the Dual 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon HD 5770 CrossfireX really good of a video card?
For example, I want to be able to run World of Warcraft and Portal and games like that on optimal settings. Even if possible, pass the infamous "Crysis test."|||You do know when you say "Dual" that means 2 cards. So you would be running the 5770 in crossfire.
The 5770 Crossfire will out preform the 6870. But it is pretty much tied with the 5870.
2 5770 is a great alternative to 1 5870 though. If you can get the 2 5770 cheaper then the 5870 go for it.
You could run most games at max with the 5770 crossfire.
With crysis you could run it at high. With no problems.
Just make sure your motherboard can support crossfireX.
Here are the best ATI single GPU video cards.
1 = 6970
2 = 6950
3 = 5870
4 = 6870
5 = 5850
6 = 6850
7 = 5770
Your card is the 7th fastest. But since its duel cards. You will be crossfireing it.
It will preform a bit better then the 5870 that is the 3rd fastest.
Hope I helped.|||I would recommend you to buy EVGA GeForce GTX460 1024 MB DDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Lifetime Warranty
*GeForce GTX 460 with 675 MHz core clock
*PCI Express 2.0
*1024 MB 256 bit 2.5ns GDDR5 memory

Ati Radeon HD 5770 1 GB GDDR5 compatibility?
Hi, I want to ask if my system is compatible with this Ati Radeon HD 5770.
This is the specs of my desktop:
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 @ 2 GHz
Motherboard: Asus P5LD2-C/IPAT
RAM: 2 GB
PSU: 350W
I guess that's all. Really appreciate your help.
Thanks|||You need to upgrade your power supply to at least 450W to run that card.|||Your PSU is a bit weak (might want to consider upping to a 500W or so). Not sure about your motherboard, but as long as it supports PCI-express you should be fine. Your processor isn't going to be wonderful, but I'm working with a similar processor at 2.2GHz and the 5770, so you're fine there. And 2GB of RAM is really not enough for a gaming machine these days. I would consider dropping another 2GB in there for the full experience.|||You will need to upgrade your PSU for this card. I would go for at least 500W which shouldn't be too expensive. You should also bear in mind that this is a dual rail card so you need to make sure that the card is not at the very bottom of your PC and that there are no other cards in the slot right next to your PCIe x16 for example; I can't get this card (even though I want to) because my network card is right next to my pci slot and I have no room for a dual rail card.|||Specs call for a minimum 450 watt PSU. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

How well will an XFX ATi HD 5770 handle these games?
This one right here,

ATI Radeon HD 5770 vs. Nvidia GTX 260?
This is the exact specs description of the two cards in two different desktops I'm choosing between, so which would you recommend out of these two cards? (to run games and multimedia work)
--------------------------------------…
Radeon HD5770
* 1 GB memory
* I/O Ports: HDMI, DisplayPort connector and 2 DVI (and VGA using included DVI-to-VGA adapter)
* This card occupies a single PCI Express x16 slot, and covers the adjacent slot.
--------------------------------------…
or
--------------------------------------…
nVidia GeForce GTX 260 (Double bracket)
* 1.8 GB memory
* I/O Ports: HDMI (through dongle only). 2 DVI-I (single-link and dual-link) - (and VGA using included DVI-to-VGA adapter)
--------------------------------------…
Both are running on pretty much identical setups of:
Core-i7-860 (L) 2.8 GHz (95W)
Socket LGA1156
Chipset:
Intel H57 Express
Motherboard:
Manufacturer: MSI
Motherboard Name: MS-7613
HP/Compaq motherboard name: Iona-GL8E
Power supply
460W
RAM
8GB DDR3
I read the GTX runs faster, but the radeon runs cooler and less power, apparently, and the GTX runs on DirectX 10 and the radeon is on DX 11, if that makes a difference in the future etc
Anyways thnx for any info ppl.|||GTX 260 would still be hard to beat;
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gt…
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gt…
However, price of the GTX 260 is quite close to that of the new GTX 460 DX11 card. GTX 460 is currently the best bang for your buck in the ~$200 price.|||ok. i dont know what hes talking about with Windows 7 64bit. im running two computers both with Windows 7 64bit and both with 5770's and that has never been a problem. in your case i think i would go for the 5770. Granted the 260 is a bit faster but from what i hear the 5770 slowely starts to make ground on it at higher resolutions. like 1920x1080. so its not much of a difference.
im also a but worries about your power supply. i know someone with a 500w that couldnt even power a 260. different things may have varied but still your running an I7 with 8Gb of Ram.
if you look at the 260 it recommends at least a 500w power supply. i think this makes the choice clear
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||Get the 5770! That's what I have. But I don't recommend getting it if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows 7 (crash, crash, crash!) and if you are using a Monitor that requires the resolution of 1920x1080 or higher (screen tearing and problems!) although you can still get it if you want. DirectX 11 is a big difference to 10 as it has more features like: tessellation which allows more polygons to be shown (gives more details but it lags a lot on radeon cards).
5770 is currently the 2nd best budget graphics card out there (the 1st is GeForce GTX 460), and it does a pretty good job at that price.
5770 is very power efficient, cooler and quiter!
------------------------
It's still yes.
It doesn't really matter if you do have the 64-bit OS or HD monitor, but it just has a bit more problems, but still works pretty well when it doesn't show up. Most of the problems aren't really big.
So far the only issues I had:
Screen Tearing (especially when I'm logging in and out (fade effect shows some))
BSOD (the drivers gave me that twice so far (My computer is 1 month and 8 days old))
Screen goes grey (another driver crash but I only had it once, probably fixed in the newer driver updates)
I just wished the GTX 460 came out earlier... I could've got that and look where it's ranked on that benchmark!!! :(
Ok how about this, try getting the GTX 460 (1GB Model) and a better power supply (650W or higher), it cost a little more but it's worth it.|||Hi there. Been outta the loop with computer parts for half a year, so the new radeon 5xxx series are still new to me.
But alas nothing too major.
Yes generally the Gtx performance should run a little faster, but personally with the rig you got i'd get the 5770.
For one, i don't know how game enthusiast you are but with a build like that i'd be a little awe'd if you wern't.
I choose the 5770 as because your right about temps, power usage, and dx11. But i forget but i think the radeons go on gddr5, if that matters to you.
So what im getting at, just the get the newer technology, might as well in my opinion and save your rig some temps and wattage. Unless im mistaken by how big a diff the gtx 260 vs 5770 is, if its no big a diff go with the radeon.
P.S, running on an i7 860 and 8gb of ram, and a high end gpu, sir make sure your 460w psu can handle it based off by just saying that with no specs.

Anyways thnx for any info ppl.|||GTX 260 would still be hard to beat;

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gt…

Should i get a HD 5770 or a GeForce GTS 250? and what are the differences?
i dont even know what are the differences and just want a card that could play games on maxed settings ^-^
if you know anyother card prices bettween 150-175$ let me know.|||I love this, most games do not even play well with DX10, even on windows7, so why the heck does everyone magically think supporting DX11 is all that. These are the same people that claimed vista sucked rats butts, and wouldn't part ways with xp for vista with DX10. So if they have never played in DX10 they haven't a clue about DX10...
I have a 285GTX MSI Twin fan edition, a very good card. DX10 would play very well in vista, key to DX10 settings is that the highest resolution is 1200x1000, it just has the tweaks turned up, for better lighting and such... Windows7 doesn't play well with the DX10 settings, and many games aren't at the DX11 stages yet.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… I suggest this 250GTS because of the cooling, even if you don't have a great ventilated case, this card will stay cooler than most. It runs off a single 6pin PCIEx15 connector, which MSI supplies a pigtail to run 2 4pin molex to power the card... The 250GTS is a 256bit card vs the 5770's 128bit. Lets do the math, 128bit more performance for the same price...
Power supply, if you happen to need a little better one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||I would go with the HD 5770 performance is close between the cards with the HD 5770 ahead and the HD 5770 overclocks waaay better than the gts 250 and it supports DX11 which the gts 250 does not.
Logic makes it sound like the 256 bit card should be better. The thing is there is much more to it than just that number that make it a more powerful card.
The first thing the bit depth (128 and 256 bit here) relates to is the memory speed. The GTS250 OC has a clock speed of 2240 mHz and the HD 5770 has a speed of 1200 at Quad data rate (a feature of GDDR5).
This gives the cards a bandwidth of:
GTS250 - 71.6 GB/s
HD 5770 - 76.8 GB/s
See how the HD 5770 even with less bit depth actually pushes more data per second than the GTS250?|||You're not going to get much in that range. For maxed out settings, you'll want at least a GeForce 9600.

What DVi cable does the ati radeon hd 5770 need?
I'm buying this graphics card and am so confused after leaving vga and now using DVi. It says this is a dual-link DVi card but is that just because there are two slots? How do i know if DVI-I OR DVI-D?
HELP! :)|||Dual-Link DVI allows additional display modes, rather than the single link DVI. It doesn't mean you can split the signal to two monitors.
If in doubt get a DVI-D cable. As DVI-D is compatible with DVI-I all you lose is the additional analogue data interface.
I've attached the WIKI page for the video standard. This should help you understand the differences.|||Your graphics card can take any of those. Dual-Link lets you split the signal into two different monitors. DVI-I just means it has the pins for both DVI-A (analog singal) and DVI-D (digital signal).

Hd 5770 OC problem? Helpp?
Hello I just got a new CPU so I can use my hd 5770 at max. (now my Gpu is the bottleneck in my system) but I want to overclock my Gpu to get a little more out of it and it runs very cool Oc 932 core 1300 mem. Use furmark for a hour never goes above 73c. In games it hits 63 and that's max. So I wanted to see what 960 core 1400mem max on settings msi afterburner. So I turn on furmark and the video card shuts off and about 30 secs it comes back on.
So just wondering if that's a problem with a card. Or is my card just saying NO. Eny ideas.
Specs
Windows 7 64
Intel i3 2100
DDR 3 1333 4 gb
HD 5770 xfx
350 gb hard drive
500 w psu
And a case fan. Ya|||Obviously, that means you've overclocked *way* further than the card can go. I also don't recommend overclocking both the core and the mem at the same time when you're first testing possible overclocks. Only combine core and mem overclocks after you know each one works alone.

Is my AMD Athlon II x2 @ 3.0 Ghz bottle necking my ATI Radeon HD 5770?
Is my AMD Athlon II x2 @ 3.0 Ghz bottle necking my ATI Radeon HD 5770? I don't think im getting all the fps in games that are in the reviews for the card in its benchmarks on several websites.|||Yes definitely. If in a review stating that a 5770 should be receiving more then you are getting at the moment its a bottleneck. Try overclocking your CPU or possibly getting a quad core, since they've become so cheap and common chance are you should be able to get one.|||I don't know what the hell the other guy is talking about but an Athlon II X2 at 3.0GHz is NOT going to bottleneck any vidcard below a Radeon HD 5850. (I'm not even sure it would bottleneck THAT). A 3.0GHz CPU, regardless of brand is damn fast for gaming. If you're unhappy with the speed of your HD 5770 it's probably because you expected too much of it. The HD 5770 consistently loses in performance tests against the HD 4870 and therefore is between the 4850 and 4870 in performance, putting it close to the GTS 250. You probably saw "Radeon 5000 series" and expected it to beat all the 4800 series cards. It doesn't work that way. It's the 2nd digit in the model # that says how potent the card is. the 1st digit only tells you what generation (usually die size) that it is. For instance, a Radeon HD 3870 easily beats a Radeon HD 4670 in performance. The 8 is greater than the 6. In this case, the 8 is greater than the 7. I hope this helps.|||Most likely, yes.|||is hell on fire.
Hd 5770 messed up my monitor resolution!?
i put my resolution on my hdmi cable to 1080i it was shaky so i changed it back to 1080p then when i did that it went to a blackscreen and said "resolution signal out of range, please set to 1080p. it wouldnt let me use the buttons or anything pure black screen i could hear the background of my comp but it wouldnt switch back, right now im using my dvi cable but i dont like it want my hdmi cable! someone know how to fix!? when i set it to hdmi it completely just stops working!|||Use the standard VGA cable or that weird rectangular plug they've got now instead while you fix it.
And doesn't it automatically change back after 20 seconds? It's built in in the case that something goes wrong.

XFX Mini DisplayPort Kit would it work with ay Not Included 1GB ATI® Radeon™ HD 5770 graphics card?
Hi i asked a question weather i could have 3 dvi / vga monitors on one pc and got 1 response saying you need 2 graphics cards and someone else said you could use a XFX Mini DisplayPort Kit with a ati gpu and just wondered if that would work for the hd 5570 and no other card.
Also whats the difference between mini displayport and display port and which is the hd5770.
Thanks|||HD5770 has a full-sized DisplayPort jack, not miniDisplayPort.
In any case, the adapters in the XFX miniDisplayPort are not ACTIVE dongles. You will NOT be able to run triple-monitor Eyefinity with those adapters.
If you want to use a DVI-only monitor as the third monitor on an HD5770, you will need an active DisplayPort-to-DVI dongle, like this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-44000-0…

My HD 5770 card idles at 50 C i don't know why its so high my ICE Q 4670 would never be that high any ideas?
I have a Cooler Master Elite 341 i know its small but i'm going to add 3 more 120mm fans would that help a lot?|||The idle temperature doesn't matter. The cooling fan is thermally controlled, so it doesn't even begin to ramp up in speed until the GPU reaches the trigger point on the sensor (which I would guess is around 50 C).
Video cards can run pretty hot, safely. If the temperature on the video card never goes over about 85 C, under maximum 100% load, I wouldn't be worried about it. However, if it regularly gets hotter than that, improving the airflow inside the case is a good plan.|||That's quite normal for the HD 5770. The reviewer in link below got an initial idle temp of 46°C, stress temp of 75°C and return to idle temp of 54°C (21°C ambient);
http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-…
Improving case ventilation may help a bit since cooler air will be fed to the graphics card.

Which graphic should i purchase, either Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5770 or Sapphire 11168-15-20R HD 5670?
Cant decide between either:
Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB (around £120)

5670 if you dont care about the graphics.

Radeon HD 5770 + second monitor for eyefinity or just HD 5830?
I have the option of getting a ATI Radeon HD 5770 and a second monitor that I can use for Eyefinity, or I can get just the HD 5830 and a new PSU (and probably a second monitor in like 6 months).
I have an AMD Phenom 9850 quad (@2.51Ghz) and 4GB DDR2 RAM, x64 win7.
Which should I get to get the best performance and fun for the price?|||HD 5770 1GB is great bang for your buck for a two monitor set up. Get the HD 5830 if you would like to go for a 3 monitor Eyefinity set up.
And you could turn your PC more exciting if you are able to overclock your processor.

Is it the extra $75-90 worth it to YOU? keep in mind you may want to play more Intense games later on..or a newer version of the games you play now will eventually come out...that may need the advantages of the 6870..its really up to you.|||just go with what you can afford personally i would go woith the 5770
Games I play: Magicka and Fallout: New Vegas.
Games I plan to play: Metro 2033.|||If your going to get 3 mointors, your going to need lots of VRAM.
With only 1GB, you will be extremely hampered. Even if you Crossfire/SLI 3 cards that all each have 1 GB of VRAM, it will total to only 1 GB. THIS ONLY APPLIES IF YOUR USING EYEINFINITY.
Get a 6950. 2GB of VRAM. Your going to need more then one i And yes, it is a HUGE improvement over your 5770.

ATI Radeon HD 5770 is available in India or not?
hi ATI Radeon HD 5770 is available in india or not?
What is it cost ?
Does it supports Asus mother board :ASUS P5GC-MX/GBL............
Pls i need help reply me friend
And suggest me a good graphic card
my budget is 6000 to 8000 (indian rupees)|||* It is available in India. I own one, purchased 4 months ago(Bangalore).
* Rs 7200+ V.A.T (as of march, 2011)
* Your mother board has a PCI-e x16 slot. So it will support HD 5770..
* Go for 5770 it is good enough to run most modern games.
* Yes HD 5770 is the best for your budget.|||I asked this question one year ago and got no detailed answer. Before choosing a graphics card, see which SMPS you have. If you have a normal SMPS 400 or 450 watts then the one and only good graphics card is RADEON HD 5670. I don't say about Nvidia because they are costly and not powerful compared to ATI. HD 5770, 5750 and all other requires a 500 Watts SMPS which will cost you around Rs. 3000/-. RADEON HD 5670 graphics card runs GTA 4, CRYSIS, NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT fine with around 40- 45 FPS. It will cost you Rs. 5,500 only. But if your budget is low then buy RADEON HD 5450 which just support games at low setting. HD 5450 will cost you Rs.2900/-.
LOW BUDGET = HD 5450 1GB DDR3 or HIGH BUDGET = HD 5670 1GB DDR5.
I recommend you buy HD 5670 because it is a very good card. Spend once on a good card.|||yes, it is available in India
7500 Rs is around minimum price in Mumbai
ur motherboard will support it , just make sure u have enough power supply for new graphic card (atleast 450 Watts)
it is good enough to run games @ high settings on 1920*1080 or lower resolutions
there isn't any card in that range giving this much good performance

i want to paly games like crysis,so want to buy a grafic card.
my System is compaq CQ3150IX Desktop'

Also let me know what would be the best choice in Rs.7000-10000 range.|||dude if ur p.c has a x16 slot and ur smps is of atleast 450watts(500watt recommended)
than it is compatible to use this card
i hav 1 sugestion if u r buying 5770 than select sapphire vapor x series|||no you can not install a graphics card in a prebuilt/branded pc.. Your motherboard do not have vacent pci'e slot to hookup new graphics card and your PSU too lacking power connecters for a graphics card.
RadeonHD5770 Is a decent card for mainstream gamers, if you want to play games in FULL HD with high setting you can look for radeonHD6850/6870 but they are a bit expensive than ur budget...
The rule of thumb is to take full advantage of any graphics catd higher than radeon5770 you must have a quad core cpu.. Goodluck :)|||You would need one 6-pin PCI Express power connectors and a PSU of at least 450wt based on ati's requirements, it looks like for that system you would need to swap in another PSU, the one listed on HP's website is 180wt. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/Tec… If its not a standard form factor PSU then you would have to source a replacement.

WIll the ATI Radeon HD 5770 work on this desktop?
Hi I want to upgrade the graphics of my desktop here's the link of my computer's specs.: http://shop.bjs.com/HP-A6622F-B-22--34--Pavilion-Desktop-PC-with-AMD-Phenom-X3-8550-Triple-Core-Processor--5GB-DDR2--500GB-HDD-Laptops---Desktops_stcVVproductId52677752VVcatId428430VVviewprod.htm
and here's the graphics card I want to upgrade to with that computer here's the link:http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6076195&CatId=3669
as you notice it only has 1 PCI express slot not PCI express 2.0... idk what the difference is so I wouldn't know if it fits t this desktop and Also I was wondering if I put this graphics card to this computer will i run crysis well with decent settings of the graphics? thanks for the help!|||I personally wouldn't recommend the 5770, although I'm not an ATI fan either. I've actually had two friends had 5770s fail on them and those cards are developed to be used to the extreme (laughing joke). I would recommend taking the Nvidia route.
But to answer your original question, the 5770 is huge. Yes it will more than likely work on your computer, but if it doesn't fit, then that's an entirely different problem. Small form factor cases most likely will not be able to contain it, and some medium sized towers don't even fit it. If you're going to use it, make sure it'll fit first.|||the best thing you can do is take your pc to a pc specialist and let them have a look, there can be many problems like the power supply might not be adequate and you might have to upgrade the psu and this could cause problems on your mobo and that it will fit in your case including gpu|||it depends on the casing that your pc have. If there is enough space in side your casing then it will fit their otherwise there will be a problem

Gtx 460 or radeon hd 5770?
which card has more to offer and why?|||The 460 cost a little more therefore probably has a faster gpu. Go to Tomshardware.com for good comparison charts. Lots of people recommend Toms site. Cost=speed in video cards-best prices at Newegg.com.
Is 53c an acceptable idle temp for a xfx radeon hd 5770?
I have a constant idle fan speed of 36% running at about 1405rpm
I have the stock cooler for the gpu, an outtake fan directly under the gpu, and i have my overhead fan constantly running on high to keep the room cool
my os is windows 7 64bit, and my ati drivers were updated today.|||Sure, that's quite cool. MUCH lower than the previous generation Radeon 4850 and 4870, which regularly hit the high 80's under load.
When reviewed by Techspot, the Radeon 5770 averaged an idle temperature of 47C and load temperature of 74C.
Your temps could easily be up to 10 degrees higher or lower depending upon the specific manufacturer (XFX, MSI, Sapphire, ECS etc) since they all utilize different GPU heatsink/cooling designs... but you're well within normal range.
http://www.techspot.com/review/209-ati-r…|||More than acceptable. It's actually a very cool idle temperature. Most video cards run around 60*C on idle and hit up to 80*C on load. That is more than within safe limits.
My 4850 runs at 62*C on idle and my 3870 ran about 50*C on idle.
But to be honest, the idle temperatures are irrelevant for two reasons:
1. The max temperature the device can take does not change from when you are on load to when you are on idle. So only load temperatures (the highest) are relevant.
2. At lower temperatures, monitoring programs are not accurate.
If you want to check your load temperatures, running a game and keeping track of those temperatures would be a good way to do it. Another way is to download and run a program called "Furmark" with the "extreme burning mode" box checked. The temperature it reaches with that is a temperature it will never go over.
But as I said, 53*C is a good idle temperature and with your fan ramping up on load, it is unlikely that it gets even near too hot.

How do i get my ATI HD 5770 video card to display?
750W PSU
1.86 Intel Duo Processor
2GB DDR2 Ram
Motherboard: ASUS P5LP-LE
I just got my new Video card and all i have is a black screen. I uninstalled the drivers to my old ATI HD 4650 card, and i have my BIOS set to read the PCI slot for Video. I still have my on board video drivers installed? When i plug in my display all i get is a black screen. Please help.|||don't remove on board drivers
uninstall new card drivers
with power off, remove card
connect monitior cable to onbard video output
disable on board graphics in device manager
shut down
install new card in PCI-E X16 slot
make sure you connect the 6 pin PCI-E Power connector
connect monitor cable to new card
power up computer
go into BIOS and make sure video card is directed to the PCI-E X16 slot, NOT PCI
Boot up
install drivers
Play Battlefield Bad Company 2
would be nice if your processor is faster for that card, not a major issue, but a slight bottleneck.
How did you install the new drivers if your new card won't display?
EDIT**
in response to if you disable onboard video drivers:
I have read that you don't have to do that and when I add in a card to a motherboard that has onboard video, I normally just disable it in windows through the device manager. It uninstalls nothing, making it easy to go back to on-board graphics. Whne you disable the on-board graphics, a picture still shows, but it is basicly a graphics card without drivers, very low resolution, and not able to do anything but display very simple text and images. So you will be able to shut down. This way has worked for me, but I have heard of other people having problems, they actually disable it through the BIOS. Some recommend it that way. If you can get it to work without uninstalling your onboard drivers, that would be better.|||1) remove the power cord from your computer.
2) safely un-seat and remove the graphics card.
3) plug the monitor into the ON-BOARD graphics card.
4) turn the computer on.
3) boot into your BIOS by following your on screen instructions.
4) navigate to your on-board video option, and disable it. Save & Exit.
5)turn the computer off.
6) remove the power cable.
7)re-seat the graphics card, ensure that it is firmly seated and the appropriate 'clicks' have been heard. Ensure proper power connects are placed.
8) turn the computer on.
If this does not provide you with any resolution, ensure that you have the proper power supply connectors to power the card. Occasionally you will find 4 and 5 pin females that have the same shape physically, but on the interior, have a different design and do not align correctly.
If this is not the case - do you have 'beeps' when the computer boots? If so, this is a compatibility issue.
If the issue continues to persist, you'll need to use the card in separate machines to see if it has something to do with yours.
Should the card not work in another Machine, voila.
If you don't have access to another Machine, there are plenty of Computer Stores that are self owned you can walk into and ask to 'seat it and boot it'.
They will do this for you because they expect that if the card DOES work, you'll bring your computer back their to have it fixed. You, being the wiser more assertive Yahoo! Will the ATI Radeon HD 5770 or 5670 1GB work on my GIGABYTE S-series M61PME-S2 motherboard?
I have AMD Athlon X2 7750 dual core processor, and a 4 gb ddr2 ram. Also, my current gpu is Nvidia 8600 gs 512 mb|||Yes, they both will run on your system. buy any of those cards with PCI-Express interface.
ATi Readon HD 5770 ?????
Will ATi Readon HD 5770 1GB be enough to play current games at max setting with resolution of
1368 * 768?
My moniter is little old and i am not planning to buy a new one, also it has only VGA output.
My current card was nvidia 9800GT 512 MB (Now its dead), which was handling all the latest games at max setting except The witcher 2 (low setting) and few other games which is exceptional.
So is ATi 5770 be an idle choice for 1368*768 resolution.
Can i use DVI to VGA adaptor with this card? ( My 9800 GT worked with it).
Or
Shall i go for ATi readon HD 6770? If yes than, why?
Does it have DVI to VGA capablity?|||720p isn't a super high screen resolution.
The 5770 will max out pretty much every game at that resolution in DX 10 mode. The 5770 is a good 35-40% more powerful than a 9800 GT.
You will be able to play some games in DX 11 mode at medium settings with the 5770. Even at that 720p screen resolution, the 5770 will have trouble going at higer setting in DX 11. DX 11 enhances textures and gives more detail to the game.
If DX 11 is something that sounds appealing to you, then I'd look for a 6850 or a 6870. With the 6850 and 6870 you are getting more performance for your dollar. The 6850 is $35 more than a 5770/6770 but it's also 35% more powerful than a 5770/6770. The 6870 is $55 more but it's 65% more powerful than a 5770.
A 6870 is 125% faster than a 9800 GT, making it more than twice as fast.
The 9800 GT is a DX 10 card. It can't play games in DX 11 mode. I'm just pointing out that you've never seen a game played in DX 11 mode. DX 11 games can be set to play in DX 10 mode. The graphics look better in DX 11.
The 9800 GT and the 5770 use the same amount of power. The power consumption of a 6850 is about 10-15w higher than your 9800GT. The 6870 consumes 40 more watts than a 9800 GT. Since the 9800 GT was built on the 65nm process, it needs more power to do the job compared to these 40nm cards. If you have a 500w power supply then your covered.
Yes, all of these cards have DVI to VGA capability. In fact, a new card should come with an adaptor.
You can also check craigslist for used cards. You should be able to find a GTX 260 for $60-70 and I've seen a few GTX 285 cards going for around $100.
I bought a PNY 1gb GTX 460 from some kid for $80... He had just listed the card and he didn't know the value. I told him he could relist it and sell it for at least $100.|||as cards get more power hungry manufacturers are also developing

Is the XFX ATI radeon HD 5770 compatible with 1.0 PCI-E slots?
hi i ordered a few days ago an XFX ati radeon HD 5770
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150462&cm_re=HD_5770-_-14-150-462-_-Product
and i ran PC Wizard 2010 and found out my computer only has 1.0 PCI-E.
http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/ECS/4006278R/4006278Rsp2.shtml
that is the MOBO i currently have, and the computer, the gateway GT5668E. now i know that a Graphics card with PCI-2.0 should work with a 1.0 slot, but ive read about compatibility issues. i just want to make sure before i open up the card and throw away 160 bucks|||Yes, it's fine.
All PCI-E 2.0 x16 cards are fully backwards compatible with 1.0 slots. You're not likely to see any performance difference either. Only around the Radeon 5870 level do cards start approaching the bandwidth limits of the original PCI-E specification.|||its compatable but i would go for a nvidia as ati have given me nothing but trouble in the past...driver issues!

HD 5770 to GTX 560 (Non Ti)?
How big of a difference will I see in game performance (Mostly Battlefield 3) when changing my graphics card from HD 5770 to GTX 560 (non ti) with my setup: AMD Athlon II 630 x4 2.8 Ghz and 4 gigs of ram?|||A minimum of 30% increase in performance according to your spec. If you compare the two cards GTX 560 will perform 40% to 50% higher than a HD 5770.|||560 of course. But that Athlon might be bottlenecking your system in future so just be prepared to buy new mobo and CPU next time when you need an upgrade.
Power consumption of a HD 5770?
Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my HD 4830 to a HD 5770. I have a 480W PSU in my pc, and I'm worried that it wont be enough to power it. Does anyone know what the recommended PSU wattage is for this particular card. Apart from the HD 4830, the only other power-consuming part is my AMD 3.1GHz dual core CPU. Thanks!|||The maximum power your card will draw is 108 watts.
The CPU's max power(if it's a 645) will be 95 watts.
That leaves 200 watts for the rest of your whole computer including your motherboard, sound card, hard drive(s), ect. I would recommend just getting a new PSU from Newegg(they aren't that expensive) and running that instead of risking ruining all of your new hardware from a power deficiency. If it's just barely over, it will rapidly wear out those components until they are broken and you are forced to replace them. Just ante up for this PSU---> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… and you won't have to worry.|||if u want to get that card and not over heat ur laptop buy a i7or an i5 processor u wont even feel warmness.

How many slot does the Radeon HD 5770 Powercolor take? Link inside?
How many graphics card kinda slots would this take? Right now i have a Geforce 8500gt in my comp that i put in a few years ago, im making a huge upgrade with this but im pretty sure i only have that one graphics card slot in my computer, because the second one has an integrated card in it. I THINK. Will this be able to fit? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||You can see on picture on first link that is has 2 little hooks on the left side that mean 2 slots!
Why is my Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB Graphics card only showing 744 MB in dxdiag?
I recently built my own pc and upgraded the motherboard to a ASUS P8P67 board, installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Downloaded and installed the most up to date drivers available from the graphics card manufacturers website and decided to run dxdiag, under the display tab it shows "Approx. Total Memory: 744 MB" Shouldn't it show 1024 MB?|||It's not actually accurate.
Mine is a 1GB card but it reads as 2805mb, which is obviously not possible as there are no GPU's with 2.8gb of memory.
If you want an accurate reading, try using the software GPU-Z

Can hd 5770 outrun a 550TI gpu?
Nope, not really... overall the 550Ti is slightly better.

The HD 5770 is faster in a few games, but when you turn up the detail the 550Ti moves ahead.

Ati radeon hd 5770 bad performance?
Mmkay, my graphics card is the one stated above, when playing games like skyrim they run like absolute crap until i run the latest ati driver update (which my card already has installed) i experimented with this issue a little, Battlefield bad company 2, saints row 3 and skyrim all lag on lowest graphics and 800x600 resolution until i run the latest ati update (which i have already ran and installed in another session) and then its fine running at high-ultra smoothly at max res until i turn my computer off, then i have to do this all again.
I hope this is understandable, im not very good at explaining things.
Thanks,
Ben.

AMD RADEON 5770 HD PERFORMANCE?
I want to know whether the AMD Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 can play games like Crysis 2/Battlefield Bad Company 2 at HD resolution(1920x1020)?
I have heard from 1 person or 2, that this card struggles at HD resolutions. What do they mean by struggle?
Can this card play games(new-crysis 2, hawx 2, nfs, gta IV) smoothly at 1920x1020 resolutions?
Should I go for a 1600x900 resolution monitor?
The aspect ration of the monitor is 16:9 and screen sixe 21.5".|||The 5770 won't run BC2 at 1080p or better resolution with maxed out detail level, it's simply not quite powerful enough for that. Buy "Struggle" they mean that the frames per second will drop down significantly in demanding scenarios.
The 5770 is mid level card, it's a good value for money, But it's not a top tier card. It'll struggle with Crysis 2 at "hardcore" detail level as well. With that said it should play BC2 or Crysis 2 decently at mostly medium settings, with no AA and limited amounts of AF. Also keep in mind BC2 is also very CPU intensive. You'll need a fast quad core (3Ghz+) to get the most out of it.|||Look at the charts at TomsHardware. It's the most recommended site for hardware comparison.

Worth upgrading from 8800 GTS to Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X?
Guys,
I am presently using a 8800GTS video card. Play games like crysis n stuff.
Getting a good deal on a 5770 Vapor-X for about 100 euros. Do you guys think its worth an upgrade? Please leme know the reason and comparison on the same.
Much appreciate your help on this. inside tech specs would be greatly appreciated.|||Heres a direct comparison. http://www.hwcompare.com/graphics/compar…
Looks like the 5770 puts the 8800 to shame and thats not a vapor-x model.
Not to mention its much newer tech so it will use far less power,
I would say its def a nice upgrade.
the 5770 also supports DX11.
here is sapphires page for complete specs on the 5770. Its much newer and better hands down:

What's a great under $100 AMD cpu for gaming with HD 5770?
My system-
2gb Corsair 800mhz DDR2 ram
MSI k9n6pgm2-v2 motherboard
Corsair cx400 400w psu
AMD Athlon 7750 dual core 2.7ghz processor
XFX HD 5770 1gb graphics card
I'm considering the Phenom II 555 Black Edition 3.2ghz processor. Should I get that or one of the tri/quad core athlons?|||You can get a pretty fast AMD Athlon II X4 for $99.

|||I seriously doubt it if there is one under a 100 bucks. I do computer repair and tuneup. I don't think I could get one for that price.|||You won't find that Phenom II for $100 or less. You could get a decent triple core for that price, though.

Can i put hd 5770 into PCIe 2.0 x16?
i am going to buy a new graphic card....
on my MoBo it is written pcie 2.0 x16
hd 5770 needs pcie 2.1x16..
will that be any problem...
my current graphic card is nvidia 8400gs ddr3 1gb|||No problem at all. PCI-E devices are backwards compatible all the way back to PCI-E 1.0.|||No problem at all.
However, since the slot is 2.0 and it is a bit slower than the 2.1, you may not be able to get your graphics card to work to its fullest. But since it's only .1 back, there's not going to be a significant difference.|||of course you can, 5770 requires pcie x16 slot and there is no problem with pcie 2.1 x16 as it backwards compatible which can support pcie 2.0 x16

Can ATI Radeon HD 5770 be combined with x4500 ?
I have a motherboard with a built in graphic card. And i the ultimate ATI Radeon HD 5770. So will the performance increase in my computer ?|||Performance will increase only because the 5770 is vastly more powerful than your current GMA X4500. The built-in graphics will be automatically disabled and only the Radeon will be used. The onboard chipset does not combine with add-in cards at all.
Some motherboards with built-in Radeon 3200 graphics support a feature called Hybrid CrossfireX which allowed an ATI card to combine with the built-in chipset for a performance boost. But that feature only works with very low-end ATI cards like the 2400 and 3450. When you've got a good midrange card like the 5770, it completely overrides the onboard video.
http://game.amd.com/us-en/crossfirex_hyb…|||A single graphics adapter driver should be used at time to avoid conflict . The better one (depending on your motherboard ) should be used to work properly.

If I buy a DDR5 Video Card (HD 5770)...?
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=N68-S It's my motherboard. I heard from a friend that my motherboard has to support DDR5, but I heard that all you have to have is a PCI-Express Slot. Is that true?|||GFX card ram is different to motherboard ram. Motherboards typically have DDR3 ram nowadays, and GDDR5 for graphics cards. All you need is a free PCI-Expesss slot in your motherboard.|||Gddr5 memory found on a graphics card is different from DDR2 or DDR3 system memory that's supported by a motherboard. Your motherboard doesn't have to support a certian memory type found within a graphics card.
Right now DDR3 is the standard. Everything that's new supports DDR3 system memory. Most of the graphics cards on the Market have GDDR5 memory. People are always running a GDDR5 graphics card with a motherboard that takes DDR3 system memory.
DDR4 system memory should come out late next year. It probably won't be the standard memory until 2014. I read a long time ago that GDDR5+ would be used with AMD's next die shrink on their graphics cards. If the Radeon 7000 series have GDDR5+ memory it will still work with a DDR3 motherboard.|||Your "friend" is a moron.
The motherboard neither knows nor cares what kind of memory is on the video card. As long as the mobo and vid card have the same slot type (PCIExpress 16x, doesn't matter what revision), IT WILL WORK.
The memory on the video card is exclusively used by the card's GPU chip. It has NOTHING to do with the motherboard whatsoever.

ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB vs ATI Radeon 4870 1GB?
Which is better performance wise or Could you suggest me a better graphics card that isn't a lot more than a 5770.|||the 5770 is the better choice.it is faster that the 4890 and is direct x11 compatible which will future proof your setup.if you want a little more performance go for the 5870|||The 4890 is >= 5770 for DX10 games. 4890 has 256 bus speed vs 128 bit for 5770. But only like 5% better for 4890.
5770 has DX11 support, so it'll end up out performing future games as DX11 becomes more used. + 5770 has triple monitor support!

ATI Radeon HD 5770 vs NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1GB ZOTAC AMP?
How big is the difference between these 2 cards?|||The Zotac has a higher click speed although both a pretty similar. I would stick with Nvidia cards at present and Nvidia are producing higher grade chips. Also try the EVGA GTX 460 rather than the Zotac. The EVGA has the same specs as the Radeon but is a very good build and quality card.

Graphics cards: Hd 4890 VS HD 5770?
Should i upgrade my HD 4890 to a 5770 or 5770 Xfire set up, or just wait for the next step.
I know plenty of people are still looking for the 4890's and i could fetch 150 for mine. Is it worth taking the hit to 128 bit computing? Does crossfire make the 128 = 256 in crossfire?
Would a 5870 be a better solution?|||http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gefo…
I think you can depend on this chart for accurate info...and I'm sure there's someone else out there who could explain the technical advantage(s) that you might get because of the card being newer
and there's always that direct-X 11 thing that everybody seems to place in a got to have category.
Tomorrow might be different, but today I think I can do without the three games that use X-11.
But then I was still using a Beta player when everyone else had a VCR...till they came out with enough movies to make it worth while to buy one...so in a couple more years I probably will have a Blue Ray.
The chart says you won't be gaining anything with the 5770 and only marginally with the 5870...
But maybe you'll get lucky and someone out there who already did that exact change will answer and let you know what they got from it...

Asus en gtx 275 896mb ddr3 vs Sapphire ati radeon hd 5770 1gb gddr5 Whats better?
i have a chance to buy one of these cards asus en gtx 275 896mb ddr3 vs Sapphire ati radeon hd 5770 1gb gddr5 and i want to know which one is better?|||The GTX 275 is worth $80 used. $100 will get you a GTX 285.
The 5770 is comparable to the GTX 260 in terms of raw performance. In fact, the 216 core GTX 260 is a little bit faster. The GTX 275 is 20% faster and the GTX 285 is 30% faster.
The 5770 does have 2 advantages. First it can play games in DX 11 mode while all GTX 200 cards can play at DX 10 at the most. Second, the 5770 consumes less power.
$100 used from ebay is too much. You can buy the 6770 for $110 new at newegg.com with free shipping.

Can I run xfx radeon hd 5770 1gb ddr5 on my 500 watt normal psu with 4pin connector?
I need details about this. Please helm me out.|||No you cannot, you need a 6 pin connector.
A 450w PSU (600w recommended) with 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors will do it.

Ddr2 vs ddr3 with a HD 5770?
So I have a hd 5770/ corsair 400cx psu/ 2gb 800mhz ddr2 ram/ MSI mobo/ 500gb hdd/ AMD athlon dual core 7750 2.7ghz. If i step up to ddr3 2gb, how much performance will i gain?|||It's not so much a question of DDR2 vs. DDR3 technology, but rather the speed at which the modules run in concert with your motherboard. You didn't give the model number of your mobo so I can't give a good answer. DDR2 at 1066MHz clock rate has the exact same maximum transfer rate as does DDR3-1066. Only if your motherboard supports DDR3 at clock rates higher than 1066MHz will you realize any difference. If you're looking for an improvement in frame rates for gaming, the difference would be minimal going from DDR2-800 or -1066 to DDR3-1333 or even -1600. Upgrading the video card will make much more of a difference in gaming performance.|||Uh, not much. Besides, you would need to get a motherboard that's compatible with DDR3 RAM.
ATI Radeon Hd 5770 Driver Problems?
Okay, so I've been trying to update my video card drivers to play minecraft. However, when I download it, even thought I could play Minecraft, the driver makes my screen smaller then the actual monitor - i.e, there is a 1 inch border of black around the display screen.|||go to game maincraft then find options or setting then look for video then look for you resolution and put it to maximum. this will work if you use step by step main instruction if you don't know how to do this look for help on youtube with video maybe you will understand. ;)
Good? Bad? The ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5?
I would consider it awesome for its price and wattage. HD 5770 has comparable performance to the HD 4870;
http://www.techspot.com/article/255-batt…
2 years ago, when HD 4870 was launched, it was a high end graphics card priced at ~$300. The card has a power consumption of 150W.
HD 5770 only draws 108 watts and cost ~$165. It is really awesome bang for the buck.|||Of course it's good.
Now the real question is is it worth the price?
Depends of the deal you have.|||Oh yeah. that card will whip pretty much any game on the market right now.

Geforce GTX 460 768mb or ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB?
Which is better?|||The HD 5770 held the budget crown for a while now, and I've sworn by it... but the GTX 460 pushes much more frames for the dollar.

Will a single Radeon HD 5770 run StarCraft 2 on Ultra?
Will it run on ultra with no lag, also will it be able to handle games released next year? Or should I think about crossfire?|||ok first. yes i have a 5770 and it can easily handle SC2 on ultra without dipping below 30fps and thats only in intense battles. usually it hovers around 50fps.
next the 5770 is not a waste of money. two of them in crossfire can outperform a 5850 and sometimes a 5870.
as for weather it can handle future games well thats hard to say. it should still be able to max most new games. but then theres usually a few games that come out with ridiculous requirements (namely Crysis)
overall i would recommend getting it if you dont mind not maxing some games like Crysis and Metro 2033. but for SC2 its great assuming your other specs are decent|||Thank you!

Dual 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon™ HD 5770 CrossfireX™ Enabled or Single 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 480?
I am preparing to buy an Alienware Aurora with an Intel i7 920 clocked @ 2.66GHz with an 8MB cache and 12GB of RAM. The only problem I have come to is choosing a GPU. My choices are:
-Single 1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 480
- Dual 1GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon™ HD 5770 CrossfireX™ Enabled
I plan to play games such as Combat Arms, WoW, EVE Online, Starcraft II, Guild Wars and so on. Which of the two above graphics cards would provide higher stable frame rates? I assume the 1.5GB Nvidia GTX 480 will simply because most games aren't configured to handle SLI or Crossfire. Any thoughts? Please provide a link to where you found your information.
Thanks in advance!|||The GTX 480 is consistently a little faster, compared to two Radeon 5770s in Crossfire:
http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2010-…
However, considering that current street prices put a pair of Radeon 5770s at about $140 less than a single GTX 480, the performance of the Radeon 5770s in Crossfire is very respectable, only a little slower than the GTX 480.
Do you have an option for GTX 460 1GB cards in SLI?
(Also, you don't really need 12GB RAM. Get 6GB, and spend the money on something else.)|||If you plan to play only those games, choose cheapest option. Even single HD5770 can run that games..|||I would recommend you to buy ASUS Geforce GTX480 PCI-E 2.0 1536 MB DDR5 Graphics Card

Is ATI HD 5770 and ATI HD 5750 mid range?
Is ATI HD 5770 and ATI HD 5750 mid range?? Wht abt ATI HD 5850??? is it High end??
thanks|||In order of performance:
Prices are taken from of newegg.com
ATI 5970 - About $700
ATI 5870 - About $420
ATI 5850 - About $330
ATI 5830 - About $260
ATI 5770 - About $170
ATI 5750 - About $150
ATI 5670 - About $100
If you want to play games at max or close to max settings (though it depends on your resolution, a higher resolution puts more stress on the video card), I wouldn't recommend anything below the 5770.|||Yes they are. Midrange typically refers to cards in the $100-$200 range like the GeForce 9800GT, GTS 250, GTX 260, Radeon 4770, 4830, 4850, 5750, 5770 and 4890. The GTX 275 might be the highest-end card which could be called midrange.
Cards between the $50-$90 mark are usually considered entry-level gaming cards. The GTS 220, Radeon 4650 and 4670, GeForce 9600GT etc. The new GT240 and Radeon 5670 are the upper end of entry-level cards, with performance quite close to the lower-midrange cards.
When you get above $300, those are high-end cards.|||All depends on how you define "mid-range". The 5770 will run all games at decent frame rates (30+ fps). There are just a handful of better cards, including the 5850 - which is definitely high end.

Ati Radeon HD 5770 with "box" monitor, will it work?
would problems arise if i get a Radeon hd 5770, but use a box type monitor, the on that's not lcd nor flat...
i just want the GPU so that my games wont lag. i dont really care for HD it's my way of cost cutting|||As long as the ATI Radeon HD 5770 has a VGA output you'll be fine. the HD5770 only has DVI, Display Port, and HDMI outputs, and I have yet to see a CRT monitor with any of these input ports.|||Yes, it will work, but old monitors have a very low response time, so your monitor might "lag" when images change very quickly on the screen.

Which is better HD 4890 or HD 5770?
will these graphics cards fit into my pc which is
http://www.cyberindian.net/wp-content/up…|||I'd say the 5770, I have this myself and runs pretty much any game, there are one or two things I've found that slows it down such as anti aliasing . That machine will have a full height bracket and I know the 5770 isn't any longer than any other card really.
Just to put performance into perspective: It can be a little choppy in Fall Out 3 at 1920 X 1080 with everything turned to the highest setting (and still slightly stutters at times with no AA).
Sims 3 runs fine with everything full but again, at 1920 x 1080 can be a bit choppy with 'smooth edges and AA. I would have thought it would have no problems and may be due to the fact that my motherboard uses my on-board ATI 4200 to 'boost' it. Great card though, defiantly worth the money and ATI have a new driver every month whatever happens.
hope this helps,

so right now im looking forward to upgrading my computer... i currently plan on swapping out my mobo for one that will support atleast 2 PCie and DDR3 because im getting tired of my DDR2 and it also will give me an opportunity to change up my graphics card configuration so i will be able to either:
A) get another 5770 to crossfire (most likely 100 dollers off ebay)
B) get a new video card from the 6XXX series that could possibly outdo the crossfire and leave for future upgrades...
suggestions?|||The problem with crossfire is twofold. First, the game you are playing has to support crossfire. Secondly, all the performance is determined by the driver you are using. AMD's drivers tend to not be that great with crossfire scaling. This means that even though you have 2 cards, you will not get twice the performance. It's still a nice increase, but I would go for 1 good card over 2 decent cards in Crossfire any day. You never have to worry about games not running well on it, plus you can crossfire it later if you really need more performance.|||I would definitely go for the Radeon HD 6950 card. It has 2GB DDR3 Memory and will be supported if you go ahead and do the crossfire with a second one. Should make for a fast frame rate gamer.
Hope this helps,
Ed|||Its definitely good to be future proof, so i say go get the 6XXX.|||I recently bought an XFX HD-687A-ZNFC Radeon HD such an amazing card It runs Crysis 2 better than my dual GPU ASUS GE FORCE GTX295 less graphical errors and FPS spikes.
2 of them is overkill unless you're running 3 monitors all at 1920x1080 you dont really need crossfire at this point
so yeah go for the 6XXX series i recommend an XFX card great company awesome customer support and i got a 30 dollar mail in rebate :)

Will Un-installing my Ati HD 5770 Driver (complete wipe-out!) Stop Me From Seeing Anything On My Display?
Hi, I have a Dell xps 8100 with an Hd 5770 ati graphic card running on windows 7 home premium 64
bit. Currently i use my graphic card via hdmi for video and sound so would uninstalling it stop me from seeing anythong on screen? I want to completly remove the driver for my graphic card and install a fresh install of the driver software.|||no, for a couple reasons.
1 when you uninstall or disable hardware, you must restart and supposeing you actually delete al associated files when yuo do thi, windows will re-install a generic driver which will have an ati driver...|||No not at all, the only thing that would happen is that the resolution may change and from my guess, you are using it on a plasma or lcd tv as you are using a HDMI connection so it will be best to connect it using a VGA or DVI cable to a computer monitor before doing that. What you have to remember first is that when a new graphics card is placed inside a computer, people would need to be able to install the software for the card. All graphics cards are capable of working without its software (driver) so that when people install the graphics card they can easily use windows and install the correct software otherwise how else would people be able to install the graphics card software without a working graphics card in the first place. Once you remove the driver, windows will switch over and use a generic version of the driver (a driver that is capable on all graphics cards to use basic features)|||I own this card. Do your self a favor. These are instructions from XFX for a support ticket I have going for a problem I am having. I figure this part would help you.
We highly recommend Driver Sweeper from
http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php… Download it and install the cleaner. Do not run it yet. Uninstall the current video drivers through the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs utility in the control
panel. Reboot into safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly after the POST screen but before windows loads. Use the driver cleaner to clean only the NVIDIA Display and ATI Display (if present) drivers. In Vista you will
have to right click the shortcut and select Run as Administrator. Install the latest drivers from the desktop and reboot into windows normally.
The one thing wrong with the above advice is after you use the Driver Sweeper in safe mode reboot. Do not install the drivers in safe mode. Otherwise the advice is solid. Hope this helps. Good Luck.|||Nope, you'll still see your desktop.
Because your mother board has a little bit of on board graphics.

HD 5770 crossfire OCZ 500W ModXstream?
Just wondering, got a hd 5770 ASUS 512MB and it's running perfectly find on OCZ 500W ModXstream, very stable.
Would it be ok running it in crossfire?
It's a quality psu, I know that but it's cutting it close to total 12v amperage it can deliver. I also plan on getting 2 kingston 30GB ssds to go with my hdd which loads on to power - I have 5 120MM fans and 2 140MM fans, 1 IDE DVD drive which I never use and the athlon 640 + 8GB DDR3 ram.
I'm assuming the psu will do fine but it's life may be cut down quite a lot. I can't get a new psu, however, I could have the chance of getting the hd 6950 1GB or hd 5870 but not as good a motherboard, I could get a basic £34 motherboard instead of a £100 one to crossfire. Though it'd mean cutting out not getting a new heatsink but I probably wont overclock anyway.
Will it do fine? If not then I'm getting 6950/5870 which use far less power.
Please do not answer if you have not researched or had the psu your self.|||be sure yer psu can power it|||i wouldnt run two 5770s on anything less than a 600watt PSU.
also they have to be two 512 meg versions that isnt very good, i would just sell it and grab a 6950 hd (better card than the 5870 hd as more games become directx 11 compliant) and use your current PSU for that but im not sure i would even run a 6950 hd on anything less than a corsair tx650w

Could I get my Radeon HD 5770 to always run at stock clocks?
Instead of it going to power save mode, would I be able to make it constantly run at 860MHz core and 1200MHz memory?|||Yes, but why would you want to do that? The clock speeds of a graphics card will increase, when needed, to meet the demands of the program you're running. Watching videos and surfing the web don't require much from a graphics card, so the clock speeds are automatically reduced. A graphics intense game will demand more from the card and the clock speeds will increase to meet the demands of the game. There's no point in running a card at higher, hotter clock speeds if you're not running a program that can take advantage of it.
That would be like driving cross country in first gear the whole way. The cars engine would be doing a lot of work with very little to show for it.

Will 550 watt power supply support 2 ati radeon hd 5770's in cross fire x mode?
i run a dual core @ 1.8 ghz and 4 gb of ram i have a 550 watt powersupply will it support 2 ati hd 5770's|||550W is a decent amount of power but that's cutting it close. If it does work, you probably won't get as much performance from your system overall compared to if you ran e.g., a Corsair 750W power supply. The type of PSU you have also matters. Is it true power? Some say 550W but they are more like 300W. You should be able to call Radeon or visit their website to see the specs on power requirements. If you can, buy a modular, CorsairHK750 or higher, Professional Series PSU.
My guess is that it will work but it's not ideal. You could try it for a week and see. Also, check temps. of your system, the GPU's and the CPU.
A 750Watt supply will also run much cooler and more efficiently than a maxed out 550 which will run much hotter and supply less stable voltages. A PSU only outputs the power that is needed.
Since the GPU's will be drawing the most power, there is always a trade off, e.g., the MOBO and CPU and memory will get less power=less performance.|||Probably. But you should upgrade just to sure. 750w+ would be a safer bet.

Does radeon HD 5770 work on Windows Vista? or does it have to be upgraded to windows 7?|||It will work in Vista but I do reccomend Windows 7 over Vista though...
Would a computer with an ATI Radeon HD 5770 run Magicka?
I'm thinking about getting Magicka, and I see that it requires an ATI Radeon X1900 Graphics card, so would a computer with an ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics card run it?|||The X1K series dates from about mid 2006. A 5770 has about double the throughput in almost all categories except power consumption. In other simpler words, it will run it very fast.
Good luck.|||Yes it would be fine. Magicka is not terribly graphic intensive

Ati Radeon HD 5670 vs Ati Radeon HD 5770?
Which is better|||>Of course the 5770 is better, that is why it has a higher number to it. If you want the details on why, then go to the AMD/ATI site and read up on the differences. All the technical details are on that site for these cards.|||ATI Raedon HD 5770 is way more powerful. Currently, many websites rate it as the most powerful card for the money.
HD 5670 is an ideal card for those that don't have a great power supply, as it only draws power from the motherboard itself. Other cards, including the 5770, require 1 or 2 PCI-E 6 or 8 pin connectors.|||ATI HD 5770 is better.
ATI HD 5670 is more power efficient but isn't as good as the 5770 at sheer graphics grunt.

AMD Phenom ii X6-1055T cpu.....ATI Radeon HD -5770 gpu......is dis config good for gaming?
STARCRAFT 2 - WINGS OF LIBERTY is d priority game as of now...|||Video games have become much more dependent on the Graphics card than actual processors for a while now. The AMD 6 core processor is more than adequate, if you could get a slightly cheaper processor to get a slightly more expensive GPU it would be better but the 5770 is 21st on the PassMark high end GPUs which is pretty good. Configuration should work very well and when you decided to upgrade, you wouldn't need to do anything with your AMD Phenom, just upgrade the Radeon 5770 later.|||Not so much.
I'd advise the following my good PC gaming fellow...
A Phenom II X4 3.4Ghz 965 Black Edition AM3 QUAD Core (I have a 955BE 3.2ghz stock) get some decent water cooling (Domino ECO Over Corsair H50, see reviews for details). ECO beats H50 by anywhere up to 6 degrees on overclocks and is quite ahead on stock clocks) Don't believe me readers? I'm sure you can use google. Don't go with Corsair just because it's called Corsair. Also, Domino have learnt from the stupid block and fastenings of the Domino ALC. Eco is golden.
Then get 2x 5770s.
Then you'll have literally a 5870 under the hood. Some crossfire performance and then you can OC that quad to 4Ghz and you're truly golden. Get yourself some sweet ram and and nice case mate and you'll piss on Starcraft.
OH starcraft only yeah, it'll do just fine. But you'll probably get better performance on Crysis with the above setup. No doubt.|||any new game is gonna require a lot of power and r.a.m. make sure you have the correct amount of both Since most game boxes tell you the required amount of ram and power and the least if not sure call your pc manufacturer and tell them what you want the pc to do and they can tell you what you need or if you want call 1800the city and they can tell you what you need like ram and power supply and graphics you need|||That's a great set up....You can play that game pretty much maxed out...I run the 1055T and ran 1 5770 and I played all my games(BFBC2 and MW2 on high settings)..So starcraft will play great.....Maxed out those games when I ran them in Crossfire, something to keep in mind if you have a board that supports Crossfire...
Scott|||Yes it is but make sure you get lots of high quality memory or you risk getting a bottleneck. I would get at least 4gb domintators to start.|||Grab 4GB ram too =o itll run it on ultra.|||this will max it out yes blahblahblah

Which should I get, the Radeon HD 5770 or the 6770?
I know that people would say get the 5770 because of the lower price, but the 6770 is newer, has OpenGL 4.1 instead of 3.2, and it's the same damned price as the 5770 on Newegg! ($119.99) Which should I seriously get?|||well when browsing graphics cards, the first number indicate how new it is (in this case 5 vs. 6) and the following numbers indicate how powerful its supposed to be so for example and contrary to populAr belief, something like the 4850 would walk all over a say 5670 for example. so you have 2 similar cards here, but the 6770 is newer, thus will support more technologies and make your system more futureproof, one of the things the ati 6 series has over the 5 series is native 3d support for example. so if they cost the same, then 6770 hands down. if theres a price difference try and get the 6770 but if the difference is more than say $20 then you wont be missing out a whole lot when you buy the former theyre almost identical (the latter is just newer so better support and has native 3d and as you mentioned open gl 4.1) but in reality its no biggie|||The 6770 and the 5770 have the same GPU...
The updates to the 6770 include,
-An updated BIOS... this may give you 1 extra FPS in games, nothing you will notice.
- HDMI 1.4
-Blu-Ray support
Thats it. You would never notice the difference.
You do get more performance for your money out of the 6870 that's about $55 more. The 6870 is 55% faster than a 6770/5770. Avoid the 6790!|||They are pretty much the same card the 6770 is a rebadged 5770, and cost about the same.. but for sake of having the latest and greatest go with the 6770

i have 1 Radeon HD 5770 1gb and i found another one for sale for $100 and i was thinking of getting it so that i could crossfire it but i was wondering if i would be better off just getting a totally new card, my budget is around 150$ give or take, alittle over shouldn't be a problem. basically if i can get 1 card thats better than 2 5770 1GB's then id rather go for that :)|||You can buy a GTX550Ti or an HD6850 for that, either of those is better than a pair of HD5770s and you avoid the compatibility problems that Crossfire and SLI can cause. Not only this but you can then pair up whichever one you choose later on if you wish.|||That is okay for games like DOTA, Starcraft, LOL, HON etc

id like all opinions really|||Wait till next week and you can buy the replacement for the 5770, the 6870, which should be faster than the 5770 by some margin. The nVidia equivalent are the GTX 450 and the GTX 460 but again the 6870 is gunning for those. Wait till you see some reviews online before you buy.|||well i own an hd 5670 1gb works really well and i can use crossfire in the future if i want. mine was only $150 never had a problem works well high fps aswell

Hd 5770 and 620W psu?
Ok, so I've built my pc, using the 620W ACE power supply - runs fine, has no six pin connector which I had to use an adapter.. I played bad company 2 on the max and got a decent 60fps
So I'm just concerned about the power supply, not sure how long it will stay with me, when running bc 2 on high the psu gets warm, quite warm on one side where part of the ventilation is blocked but not so badly, in fact around the same as my old 500w psu on my hd 4670 with bc2 on low/high
It has a 120mm fan - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ACE-620-WATT-BIG-F…
More importantly it has 16A 12V1+ and 18A 12V2+
Rail 1 - 16A
HD 5770 uses 9AMPS (108W max - 9 x 12) = 7 amps left
Fan one 80mm uses 0.22 amps = 6.78A left
fan 2 uses 0.04A (40MM + 40MM) +0.04A, 0.08A total = 6.7A left
HDD uses 0.50A on 12V 1 or 2 or 1.56 5V = 6.2A left
I dunno what else uses the 12v1 railing but that leaves me with 18 or something like 9 or 10 amps left on the second rail..
Ambient room temp is pretty low considering it's like -1 or -3 outside with snow and ice and the heatings off in this room, cpu is 12 degrees Cecilius, gpu is 30 degrees Celsius ASUS HD 5770 52MB and hdd is 22 degrees Celsius.
How long do you expect it will last? I would of got a better psu and some crappier cheaper case if I had know the advertising was wrong - no six pin, it said it had six pin on the website, oh well - £19.99... It has like 4 or 5 cm of space to blow heat out for the psu as psu is mounter underneath but air flow into it should not be a problem except the hd 5770 is right next to it and seems to get warm.
Any ideas how long it will last? Is this fine? I really can't buy a new psu, I just hope it's good enough.|||Flip the power supply over if you want so the power supply fan is facing up if it is bottom mounted.
I really wouldn't trust that power supply.
This 400 watt has more power then that power supply has 88 % efficiency

Your power supply isn't even 80+ certified.
I wouldn't be surprised if the power supply failed on you and took your parts|||Put the maximum case fans in, that's about all you can do.
