I know that people would say get the 5770 because of the lower price, but the 6770 is newer, has OpenGL 4.1 instead of 3.2, and it's the same damned price as the 5770 on Newegg! ($119.99) Which should I seriously get?|||well when browsing graphics cards, the first number indicate how new it is (in this case 5 vs. 6) and the following numbers indicate how powerful its supposed to be so for example and contrary to populAr belief, something like the 4850 would walk all over a say 5670 for example. so you have 2 similar cards here, but the 6770 is newer, thus will support more technologies and make your system more futureproof, one of the things the ati 6 series has over the 5 series is native 3d support for example. so if they cost the same, then 6770 hands down. if theres a price difference try and get the 6770 but if the difference is more than say $20 then you wont be missing out a whole lot when you buy the former theyre almost identical (the latter is just newer so better support and has native 3d and as you mentioned open gl 4.1) but in reality its no biggie|||The 6770 and the 5770 have the same GPU...
The updates to the 6770 include,
-An updated BIOS... this may give you 1 extra FPS in games, nothing you will notice.
- HDMI 1.4
-Blu-Ray support
Thats it. You would never notice the difference.
You do get more performance for your money out of the 6870 that's about $55 more. The 6870 is 55% faster than a 6770/5770. Avoid the 6790!|||They are pretty much the same card the 6770 is a rebadged 5770, and cost about the same.. but for sake of having the latest and greatest go with the 6770
